For this doily it is recommended to use cotton yarn.
The size of the doily depends on what size hook and thread to use. I used a thin thread and hook a 1.3mm and got a doily size 5in (13cm). When I used a thicker thread and a 3mm hook I got a doily size 7.4 in(19cm)

It is very easy to read the pattern. I made several such doilies and gave them to friends, it will be used as coasters
